You could do a nice totem using a Sonotube designed for concrete. They come in large diameter sizes. If it's too heavy to lift off just split it in two and hinge it back together
Do your totem design using papercrete (paper mache using Portlands cement instead of glue)and then seal it with concrete sealer when dry. It will last for a long long time.
Post a picture when you get started.
This could look very cool.
Or do a huge chess piece.:)

Thanks for the advice! As a matter of fact, I have two of those tubes in my playroom, made up to look like castle towers - they are getting in the way and I was wondering what to do with them. The hinging idea is genius! I'll post a pic when I'm done. Thanks again - Amy
