You need to go to a bigger cotainer NOW! Where are you located - state, zone? You could probably start hardening them off in larger pots/containers now.

If you're interested in starting plants from seed, you could check over on the "Growing Under Lights" forum, or take a look at the Winter Sowing Forum.

But definitely get those beans potted up ...

Thanks pvick for the response, Ok I replanted in a rectangle box about 30" but only 4 1/2" deep (maybe not deep enough) I will have to start staking which is great but is that depth enough or should I go into a actual deeper pot which I do have?

bronxbill - 4½" is not deep enough. You'll be watering every minute. Beans do have a fairly shallow root system, but I'd think you would need a container that's at least 8" deep - like a 3-gallon nursery pot - or more.

I'm growing yard-long beans this year, and they'll be planted in a 5-gallon nursery pot - 6 plants. I'll also be growing some bush beans and bush snow peas; those will go in a 12" container that's about 9" deep.

I'm not sure how much transplanting beans can handle, but if you're going to move them again, I'd suggest trying to keep them (the rootball) as intact as possible.
