Wave Petunia saved seeds

Hi all, my Wave petunias are making hundreds of seed pods (its a tough job to deadhead petunias). Now my question is that, anyone has grown a Wave petunia from the saved seeds? I know that they are hybrids and don't come true from seeds but how these offspring perform?

I have 3 other petunias namely Eagle Pink vein, Eagle Purple vein and Eagle salmon, 'm thinking to make crosses of them with Waves, has anyone tried that??

Izhar,

I grow Wave petunias every year and they self sow with profusion. The resulting seedlings are not Wave petunias. They have a more upright habit, are not as vigorous and lack the cascading habit. Although, I plant many different colors of Wave petunias, the self sown seedling are always a magenta color. They are very similar to the original species or wild petunia in my opinion.

Thanks for the input Karen, I will now save only the selected crosses for next season..
