Avoiding Standing Water in Hose Pot

Finally found a lovely cobalt blue hose pot to keep a short coil hose in and make that area next to the hose bib looking good (well... between the hose bib and a buried hose line in the yard).

But it has no cover, and now when it rains I'm dealing with standing water in the garden -- always a problem (for mosquitoes, if nothing else). Any creative ideas on how to deal with this? Currently I'm just tipping the hose pit to drain it, but what a pain.
