protecting garden hose from car wheels

Has anyone seen something that I could put over my garden hose when I have to run it across the driveway that will protect it from the car wheels? I cannot help but thing that being run over by a car is NOT a good thing for hoses. And they ain't cheap!

Our garden club hoses get run over all the time when I am watering. They still last for many years, and I suspect it happens more than it would in a driveway. The key of course is to not let the fittings get run over.
Do you leave it all summer accross the driveway?

I ran mine thru a steel pipe that I put across the concrete near the entrance of my garage. The pipe never dented and hose fit thru it fine. The step up to the garage held the pipe in place had it there for years driving over it daily.

- you'd need to sink it if there wasn't something to hold it in place.
