Don't know how new you would call it, but one of my new favorites that spill out of containers is the Silver Falls plant. I love the silvery color.

My favorite summer spiller is scaevola (blue). It never gets so long it needs to be cut back and the blue blooms seem to go with nearly anything I plant. I have not had good luck with the white one. Don't know why.

Will agree with the Silver Falls Dichondra and Scaevola. Also , Petite Silver Licorice plant (Helichrysum) is on my buy-again list this year. In '07 I came across a 'Bombay Pink' Scaevola which was about as nice as the blue(s).

By the way, the Dichondra comes in a green-leaf form, too. These are too pokey for me to start from seed but we have some nice local greenhouses for started plants.

Thanks for the responses. I haven't tried the scaevola but I think it may be great in my window boxes. The Dichondra and Helichrysum are great. I like trying new stuff.

I use Sedums for my spill overs. There are so many varieties with different colors and textures. Many of which bloom. They are very hardy and resist drought as well. Some folks don't care for the way they can spread (like wildfire). I find it very attractive.
