Saturday I planted 24 6" delphinium seedlings in a bed next to our hedge. Monday AM I found only a bed of naked stems. While assessing the destruction and blaming a rabbit, I saw that the small birds that I thought were picking for grubs were actually tearing bites from the leaves. They ate every one all the way to the stem, but not the stems. I've never had birds eat green foliage before. Is there any thing I can do? I don't want to look out the window and see a net.
