Probably be best to wait until after the last possible frost date for your area and when the soil warms up enough for direct sowing. There are lots of variables to consider, including where you are in zone 5, but it looks like early May might be the time.

Zone 5: Average dates the last frost - 30 March to 30 April
Average dates the first frost - 30 September to 30 October

I'm not sure about the others, but shasta daisies can be sown 2 to 3 weeks before your average date for last frost.
