Transplant them when their root systems have begun to fully take up the space in their present container...but without being root-bound. Use a very porous, coarse potting medium for best root system and top growth. You could simply incorporate a generous amount of perlite into your potting mix.

i dont understand.. one seed per 3 inch pot???? if so .. as rhizo notes ...

if multiple seeds per pot .... you may want to consider repotting smaller ... less plant.. less stress ...

many growers start seeds in the smallest pot/tray ... and repot each time the roots hit the edges of the pot ... say cell pack to 6 oz solo cup ... like they used to have at the dentists ... to 8oz to 12 oz to 16oz ... repeatedly adding new soil seems to invigorate them

I would not recommend potting up multiple seeds per pot. As soon as they are large enough to repot they should be one plant per pot. Al

Hmmm...I assumed that she planted one seed per peat pot....but I'm wondering about that now. ;-)

If you have sow multi seeds into the pot you should seperate them out into serperate pots if the re not too rooted in, then pot up when roots are filling the starter pot.
