Thanks, goblugal. Yes, the link to the "Joey" was similar to other info links I've found online. Apparently it's fairly new in the nursery trade in the U.S., so perhaps not too much is known about its cultivation here. I've had it in morning sun, but plan to move it to a slightly more protected location, under screen, but still very sunny. Maybe it just doesn't care for that direct hard sun.

Joey was introduced last year, making it into garden centers this year. There is alot known about it, just not alot published on the web. For what it's worth, I had it in containers and in the ground last year (I work in the industry, had plants from trials we grew for Benary)and mine looked like doo-doo all summer. They like really high light levels. It is native to Australia, so really needs LOTS of sun.

Goblugal, interesting job you have! I'd love it. I was wondering if I should put this babe in the ground instead of leaving it in a pot. Apparently, according to you, it works about the same 'bad' either way. Based on your emphasis on light, I will try to find a better place for it and see if that helps. It's a gift, I really like it, and I just naturally want every plant I have to flourish anyway. Let me know if you think of any other possible 'fixes' I can try.

You mentioned that your plant is showing signs of wilt and dryness. Perhaps your potting soil has dried out so much that it's really not accepting water. When this happens, you can water a plant, the water will drain out the bottom, and yet the soil will still be bone dry. If this seems possible, I would gently lower your potted plant into a bucket of water and let it soak until you're sure its soil has been saturated. Then let it drain well.

I recently saw Mulla Mulla growing in Outback Australia, in NSW & Queensland. I originally saw it in Western Australia, where I fell in love with its natural beauty.
My travelling friends have sent me bags of different seed varieties from WA, so I'm about to experiment..in the ground & in pots, with ordinary soil and plenty of sunshine. Be assured ...the Outback has loads of very hot sunshine where the Mulla Mullas live!

They grow every where in hot and dry places in Australia. Rocky and sandy soil.
