It is a rich and natural source of nitrogen; unfortunately it can burn plants if used in excess.

The answer is yes; you can fix your problem. Go out and buy your wife all new plants. You will have to add a LOT of new soil to mix in, though; or wait until next year anyway.

This is a wait and see issue. Have you begun to see any damage, yet?

Wait a little while, in the mean time water it WELL. Bloodmeal is very degradable. In fact when you are using it for pest repellent you HAVE to re-apply after every rain or watering in order for it to work.
PS: I don't know anyone around here who has actually had luck with keeping rabbits away with blood meal.

30 square meter garden but how big was the box of blood meal? The box I buy is a 3 pound box, very unlikely to do any damage to a 30 square meter bed.
I spread blood meal after every rain or every week if it doesn't rain...I have a lot more beds than you do, but spread about 10 pounds of blood meal during April and May....and it does the job of keeping the bunnys at bay for me...as long as I reapply it often.
I don't think you will see damage, but do keep the area well watered...and find another way to keep the rabbit away...as they won't smell the blood once you get a good rain.

Dog or cat fur spread under and around plants (where it cannot be seen, of course) works like a miracle for me when trying to keep the bunnies away! So does Coyote urine. Read the directions on the bottle.
