free alyssum plants at nurseries!

I believe alyssum (annual) grow from one major stem, but I investigated a six-pack to make sure. Hmmm....there were parts of the plant that seemed a distance away from that stem, and I really wondered.

I think what happened is--they overseeded and maybe didn't thin, as the other cells had more too! Ever being the cheap one, I went inside and separated the little plants from the cell, and went ahead and planted the main one. ALL are doing well (under lights!) and will go out when I make sure they're doing okay.

Today was just too gorgeous not to plant ONE thing, and--I stupidly ordered my seeds late this year. I'm waiting, and I am dead frustrated. I believe tomorrow is the day, for I paid an outrageous sum for delivery!

Anyway, I'll have some alyssum up and smelling good before my own seeded plants really get blooming--and that made this day a great one!

Don't know if other garden centers' sources do it this way--but it sure made my heart happy! :D
