Find the sunniest and coolest location in your house until you can put them outside. Marigolds often bloom very early sowing.

You fed them probably too much phosphorus early on?!
Or perhaps you are mistaken. The thing at the middle
is not bud but leaves in early stage. When I look at sunflowers, when they are young and hort, I get similar impresion that they are growing bud. But that is just wrong impression, I realize.
