Has anyone heard of crushed seashell mulch? I bought some bulbs from a gentleman at our local yearly gardening show. He told me to mix the mulch in with the soil when planting the bulbs and it would keep all the rodents away from the bulbs. I know that won't stop the critters once the bulbs start growing, but he said it would help get them started without being disturbed, and wouldn't attract ants like some of the other suggestions I've heard. I've searched the web and can find nothing like this. Any ideas, anyone?!
