I bought seed from Parks Seed and had fair germination last year - part of it was my fault as I tried to WS them and I think they need warmth to germinate. They were very slow to germinate and then very slow to grow but by mid summer they really do take off. - I did it again this year only took more care and had better success with germination. They are still quite small but very healthy looking. I am hoping for good bloom by mid-summer. Hope that helps.....

Hello Lynne, I figured they would be slow to germinate and slow to flower, so I did buy 3 plants that are already in bloom. They are so pretty, sometimes I just can't wait to start them from seeds. Maybe I'll try rooting some cuttings . . . The seeds are already in the ground, if they work then I'll just have more, but at least I can enjoy them now. Thanks! Donna

I have angelonia seedlings in a pot (took a while to germinate) but since I know nothing about angelonia - does one seed produce a flourish of flowers

or should I keep a few seedlings in a pot? Thanks

One plant in my heavy clay soil will spread nearly two feet in width! I would give each plant as much room as possible as soon as possible.

It's my favorite perennial-grown-as-an-annual ! Blooms all summer long, thrives in the blazing heat and sun without fading, requires little watering once established, needs no deadheading ever, AND my hummingbirds and butterflies like it.

I just brought two very healthy, large angelonias home from the nursery and they were such a shot in the arm for a couple of bare spots. I thought, now why don't I grow these every year? Well, they are usually pretty expensive annuals in the spring, so if I wanted to grow more than a couple, I'd rather start them from seed. So I wonder how they did as the season progressed for those of you who did start them from seed?
