*Must* they be in pots at the cemetery? That's a mighty tall order, as my full-sun containers need to be watered at LEAST once a day once the summer heat kicks in.

The plants would have a better chance at surviving if they could go into the ground, even if it's only a narrow strip next to the marker/headstone.

Otherwise, I'd seriously consider an artificial arrangement. I wince as I type that, but seriously -- minimal hand watering + containers + sun = almost-certain demise.

Most people here also do pots at Memorial Day.
I make sure there are polymer crystals in the pots.
Since I can't go water everyday, I figure that the pots are a lost cause by mid July.
Fake flowers at a cemetary really look awful....I would rather a pot of real plants sitting brown and dried up than a bunch of faded and tattered fake flowers.
The graves I decorate are in full sun, part sun and mostly shade...
I made my planters with geraneums, artemesia,a couple of petunias, a couple of yellow marigolds and some Lamium from my garden....
