Off-board email (hat tip) leads me to believe that the tenor of the original post might be misread: I'm not looking to save myself all the work, here. I'm asking if anyone has a zone 6 calendar, yes. I was hoping that people who had guides or citations or links to guides for any zone would throw them up here and make them generally available, thus enriching everyone's knowledge base. I thought that was clear from my wording, but perhaps not.

I'll dig up what resources I have bookmarked or photocopies as well. This is a call for general participation, not a call for someone else to do all the work for me.

Try this site right in your own backyard. Lists tropicals, annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees even water plants. Click on "Plant Culture & Characteristics" for the best most complete info for each plant. josh (also lazy and I so appreciate the MBG pulling all this together for me)

Here is a link that might be useful: Missouri Botanical Garden

It's very hard for anyone on this list not in your area to provide blanket care instructions. Care for specific species depends greatly on local conditions, not just Zone information.

You might have better, more usefull, results in talking with local bonsai clubs.

Try "Miniature Bonsai" by Herb Gustafson. He gives it as early spring, etc. but very easy to understand and very easy to shift to months in your zone. Zack

Thanks, all. Leave it to me to miss the MBG site (it would take me longer to look it up on the web than to walk over there--it really is almost in my backyard).

I actually get frustrated with people who give advice by the months of the year because most of the time they do it with their calendar in mind. That can end up creating problems for beginners that take that advice. April in zone 5 has nothing in common with April in zone 7. Zone 5 around the Great Lakes might still have a good chance for snow whereas in zone 7 here in central Okla. might be hitting 70Âs- 80Âs.

my god i have it, plant the when they are little and chop off the roots, all of them, dont hold back! Kill them all!
