I bought the prettiest hawaiian luau about 2 weeks ago. I just found out on the tag that its a Calibrachoa. No idea! (I'm new to the plant world)
The tag says shade, but comparing it to other Calibrachoas it says full sun. Which is it? Also it says fertilize every day. Is that true? And should I pull the dead flowers off? I really love this plant and want it to thrive.
Your pic upright. That's an especially pretty one! I would go with more sun.
No plant needs to be fertilized daily, or probably watered that often. Does that hanging basket have a drain saucer attached? Two recent discussions about these plants in hanging baskets might be helpful. One. Two.
Yikes, follow the directions on that tag and you'll end up with dead plants.
Give your plant plenty of sun (several hours of full sun), water thoroughly only when needed, and fertilize once a month with a water soluble product. It's a tough plant that can be harmed by excesses.
