I seriously doubt that the cool temps had anything to do with their stunted growth. We live in a climate where temperatures go that low off and on during the summer. Besides I'm sure it is much warmer now.

I hope they are in shade or have morning or evening sun. Begonias are a shade plant. They like morning and, or,evening sun but won't tolerate a hot sun.

That having been said it sounds to me like they were pot bound. Plants you buy are often pot bound. Did you loosen the roots when you planted them.

Pot bound is when a plant out grows it's container. The roots have no where to go and they go round and round on the bottom. If you don't loosen them so they are hanging down before you plant the roots will stay in that little ball and the plant can't get what it needs to grow.

Dig one up and look at the roots. If it was pot bound then the roots will be in the same ball as when you planted them. Loosen the roots and replant

Thank you for the reply. It has warmed up and night time temps are staying around 65-70 with daytime temps in the 80-85 range. They are sitting in morning sun with afternoon shade. I will dig one up and see if it is root bound.
