I had this plant several years ago. It did great until we got our hot weather. Mine had only morning sun, but by mid July it was fizzled out. I remember reading posts from other gardeners here and if they had hot summers, the plant just didn't do well. I've seen them in pots when we go on vacation way up north in Wis. They seemed to do well up there. The temps didn't get near as high or stay that way as long as in the southern part of the state. I would plant it in your front bed. Hopefully you'll enjoy it longer than I did.

Thanks for the info. I'm actually surprised by that since the websites I've looked it up on have all said it's "heat tolerant". This isn't good considering I already jumped the gun and bought some other annuals to plant with it in a container on my back porch! I don't wait very long for answers, I guess! lol! Maybe I can put it on my front porch instead and move my Gerbera Daisies that are there to the back.

Ooh wait, I just thought of something.. do you think you could possibly be getting it confused with "Osteospermum" (African Daisy)? They look VERY much alike, and I can remember people saying that about them not doing well in hot summers. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part! lol

I've had both. Tried them both in the same areas at different times. The osteospermum did even worse. :( Usually I give plants a 2nd try, but these did so poorly and I heard a lot of people say the same things aobut them, I haven't tried either again. Just an update on this.. I'm really surprised because it is actually doing great! We have had a pretty bad heat wave, too! It's blooming like crazy in hot, full sun. I'm really glad that I gave it a chance after all!

I have grown marguerite daisys in full hot sun for years without problems. Perhaps Katusha didn't water enough.
I usually had a few self seeded plants too.

They were in pots and watered every day. My other regular annuals did fine, even in the bad heat we had. Others have said the same thing about MD and the ADs. When it stays in the mid to upper 90's for weeks, they just don't do well. Maybe it's the humidity too. I live a few miles from Lake Michigan and the humidity is usually quite high.
Linda, have you grown the Butterfly one? That's the one a lot of people were complaining about.
