Whack those babies back halfway, and let the soil dry out between watering. The ends have to be trimmed after blooming or they get gnarly looking and sometimes even get a mildew on them when it's humid out. I love the tenuisecta verbenas but that is the nature of the beast. Whack them. LOL.

Thanks, CalliopeÂwack I will. I took a piece to a garden center and they thought a bug might have been eating it. I only bought it 2 weeks ago and have it in a basket with a geranium. IÂve moved it off the ground onto a table on the deckÂhope that helps. I had it near some small basil starters and maybe a bunny came by...we have lots of thoes on the cape. I can never grow basil in the ground..only in containers on the deck
