No dig away. As soon as the foliage begins to yellow some you would be safe to move them. As soon as your blooms are done & before you dig them spray the foliage with a liquid fertilizer spray to feed the bulbs. Yellowing foliage feeds the bulb for next years blooms so giving them the fertilizer spray will help them. It is not until fall that the bulbs make new roots for the following season so I can't see how your bulbs could be hurt moving late spring. I move bulbs in late spring all the time because I never can find them in the fall. I tried marking but the squirrels move the markers. So I always move bulbs just as the foliage is close to the complete yellow stage. I also always spray the foliage with liquid Kelp each season after flowering but I realize not everyone has Kelp & that is why I say use a liquid fertilizer to spray the foliage.

I agree, and I believe you will be more likely to have bloom in the spring than waiting til fall when new roots are forming. Plus, they are easier to find before the foliage completely dies back.

I actually pull some of my tulips out leaves and all to make room for something flowering, I put them into an empty pot out of mid day sun and they die back and then I plant them up in the fall with great success. Janet
