Most of my annuals aren't doing much yet. We've had so much rain, which is good but we haven't had any sunny days in weeks, and I think they need a few days of sunshine before they'll start blooming. The only annuals blooming well for me right now are my stocks. I've never had luck with them in the past, but this year, with the cool temps and moisture, they are beautiful. I think this must be the ideal conditions for them. Even my perennials, although loaded with buds, aren't really flowering yet. The rain is good, but we could use some sun too.

What annuals.....when did you get them in the ground......and what are the conditions where you live...
All impinges on the size now.

Mine weren't doing much until we finally started getting some sun instead of rain. Now they're going gangbusters. No worries - they'll get there. :-)

Soil temperatures also play an extremely important part. I was disappointed that soil temps were still about 51* at 6 inches Mem Day weekend here. I planted anyway.

It does depend on when you planted and how your weather has been. But you should notice a good improvement by early July. I've had most of mine in since Memorial Day weekend and they are finally starting to fill out. But in July they are really filling out nicely. If you planted at the end of May, watered them and fed them you'll see a big difference in 2 wks. Some do take a little longer though. Take some pics thru out the growing season so next year you'll see the big difference in a month's time.

In a word: Pathetic.

It's a good thing I've supplemented with (more than I expected to) purchased plants, plant swap items, and had some from last year that are doing well. Otherwise, it would be a pitiful show for the season.

My mesambryanthemum Sparkles Mix is about the only thing that is putting on a show at all, aside from the (purchased) Coreopsis Early Sunrise.

Nemophilia Mello Red (Valueseeds) is just starting to put on its little show (little being the key word here; I guess I was expecting a pansy-like size from them, but they are about 1/2 the size of a dime. Cute, but small.

I need to get out and take pix, too.

Did you plant your mesambryanthemum from seed? If so, how early did you start it? I just bought a pack today thinking it was the perennial ice plant, and am wondering if I should bother sowing now for a late season show or just wait until next year...

My impatiens and peppers are doing much yet. Tomatos are just starting to take off. Vinca is slow. Geraniums doing o.k., we've had a few cool nights so that is probably the reason. This weekend is supposed to be 90 plus degrees F. so We'll see what happens!
