I planted 30 mixes colours in to me mum's garden last year they survived the minus 8ðc here in South West uk. they hqve just started to come up.

There are all kinds of different kinds of glad corms.
In my zone, I'd have to dig and store the corms in the fall - something I was never terribly successful at doing due to mold or rot or just dry out. The showy Grandiflora glads are probably the least expensive of any kind of thing you can buy. I'd buy new ones every year and just let the old ones go. And I always had good luck with the packaged corms from Menards, Sam's Club, whatever. I don't plant them anymore, the deer would chow down on the bud stalks.

Experiment - dig and store some to see how they fare; put some in the solarium see how that works out.

Also I'd say bear in mind the eventual height if they are the large flowered Gladioli. The container would need to be in proportion visually and heavy enough not to blow over when they have 3 - 4 feet of wind resistant foliage and flower stems billowing above them.

I know they need to come in in the fall.. I was just wondering if I needed to take them out of the containers and store them out of soil in their dry clean state, or if I could just leave them in their containers and pull the containers inside during the winter.
I've successfully overwintered potted tulips and irises, but they are good to go in my zone. I wasn't sure if glads would be too fussy for this treatment and need to be dug up out of their containers or not. I've overwintered tulips, hyacinths, and irises dry too, so I dig the corms up if needed.

And I think I picked good containers? They are 18 inches tall, 16 inches square made of a heavy plastic. I have a few of them side by side, making a little sort of raised bed/wall of glads. They are backed by a bit of fencing that I can use to tie them up if needed as they get taller.
