Clarkia are a native that I think you would have little success digging and transplanting. I grew them in the past crowded, and had a wonderful area full of spring blooms. Al

I have wintersowed clarkia for several years and they transplanted well for me, at least when they were still somewhat small. I would just take a few small shovels full out of the center and move them enmass (sp?) to another spot. I've left them pretty crowded and they do fine. They are nice, since they are a very early blooming annual. I should try throwing some seed down next spring and see what I get. Good luck.

Thanks Al and Martha, I like the idea of taking a small trowel or two from the center and trying to place them else where, but other than that I will leave them pretty dense.
