growing vincas

I planted several vincas in my flower bed. I planted them in front of my hedges. they receive morning sun and evening shade. What I was wondering is why they are not spreading and bushing out. I planted them last month and water them nearly every day. Also, I spaced them about 8 inches apart. Any advice?

Well, I think you are overwatering them. They don't like to be constantly wet. I try not to plant a vinca before June 1 because the May rains and lack of real heat to dry the rain up is not what a vinca likes.

I would back off the watering to every third day and see what happens.

thank you so much for the advice, even though i just got through watering them, i will wait a few days before watering them again!

Yes, they are a drought and heat tolerant plant. They like a little abuse. lol
