Why would you want to? I would be feeding them a high phosphorous blended fertilizer and/or bone meal...
Take the calcium yourself....keep your bones strong for digging and planting more bulbs.

Marsha - chances are that your tablets won't ever dissolve in plain water unless the water is made pretty highly acidic (although some formulations like calcium citrate, are a bit more water soluable). Most Calcium supplements are Calcium carbonate. And how our bodies get the Calcium ions from these supplements is due to the fact that it dissolves in the stomach's acidic gastric fluid and migrate from there.

For the cost of supplements nowadays, it's much cheaper to get bulb fertilizer like Bulb tone or use bone meal, etc.

My wife went yo the hospital for gall stones and kidney stones at the same time. When they gave her a blood test for calcium it was very high. The doctor asked why she was taking citrocal and she had to tell him because he told her to. I would suggest having a test to see if you need more calcium before taking any. It is almost automatic that it is assumed your body needs it. No one needs kidney stones. Al

The reason I thought bout using the calcium tabs in my gardens, I thought it would be less wasteful if i could use them instead of throwing them away..without vit. D, it is pointless to take them.
Thanks Al, I had no idea to much calcium causes gal stones..I will check with my Doc. before I continue to take any.

Marsha....don't throw away the calcium....buy some Vitamine D and take that with them until the bottle is gone.
And calcium tablets are not the only source of vitaming D you know.
Al....Dr's are now discovering gall and kidney stones aren't caused by an excess of calcium in the diet, but often by an excess of calcium in the blood, causes my many things but often by thyroid disease or bone disease.
