I just discovered Iceland Poppies this year after 34 years of gardening!! I believe they are cool season annuals at least here in warm California. It surprises me to see them in the nurseries now. I would think if they were planted in full sun today, they would be dead within a week!

Along the same lines with the warm summer sun and planting winter vegetables.............To plant them in the summer for eating in the fall and winter I think I need to put shade cloth over them during the heat of the summer days.
