In 2002 I received some seeds from Centratherum intermedium (Brazilian Buttons) in an exchange. A couple of branches on two out of a dozen plants produced variegated leaves. (The flowers were the normal.) I saved the seed of both variegated leaves and normal leaves in separate bags. Jump to the present. I found those seeds from the odd branches and planted them. Lo and behold, almost all the plants are variegated! It will be interesting to see how the plants look when they get larger. Currently they are 2" tall. I figured the variegated branches were genetic odd-balls that would not be transferred by seed. I guess I was wrong! Does anyone else have variegated Brazilian Buttons?
