Just had a strong storm-sunflower help needed!

20 years ago

My claret sunflowers just got snapped off in a very quick,strong storm. I ran out and immediately put the stems in a 3 gallon water bottle. Will these stems survive if I keep them in water? There are still 4 buds that have yet to open. First the goldfinches and now the wind. They were so pretty-oh well!!
