They are banned from my garden,orders from my wife! The seeds are like the worst weeds for getting picked up by your pets fur or your pants legs or stockings. In the washing machine they are generously transferred to the rest of the wash. If they are planted in the spring they will bloom profusely and you will not need to plant them again, as they are quite able to reseed themselves. All in all an easily grown attractive annual. Al

Thanks, Al. Your answer is the very reason I so love these forums. Nowhere would anyone ever tell that tidbit of info about the seeds, and yet, it is good to know. I have a few plants that have leaves that are so fuzzy that when I get around them, I come in the house just covered with them.

I will wait till spring to sow the cynglossom. I saw a picture of a sweep of it in one of Christopher Lloyd's books and I really want to try them. My dog never goes in my beds, as far as I know. This may be the acid test. :)

I love these true blue flowers and they have come back. Never had much of a problem with sticking seeds, even on the cats. I hope to find them in bulk. Tried Anchusa Capensis, and you know, they have velcro seeds too! The flower that volunteers the most in my garden is Ageratum!

Donna, they are early spring flowers for me. I would either fall sow or wintersow (see WS forum for details). They are easy to grow. ...and they do have velcro seeds!

I looked through my archive...here's a pic I found. It was dated May 8, 2005, so that tells you about the time frame they bloom here.

Lisa, when you say "fall sow", do you mean in pots under lights or in the ground? Have you actually tried that and had the plants live through winter? That would certainly be easier than having to grow them under lights.
