I didn't see the SL article, but got lots of hits on Google. The plants look more trailing in some photos than others, but they are lovely. Will be glad to hear some feedback here on them.

I don't recall that name "Plentifall",but in my area a "Hardy Pansy" is sold in Spring to about the end of June. They definitely over winter as I have planted them several times as filler between perennials. They bloomed great and came back the following Spring (the foliage remains green all winter if I remember right)and bloomed from then til Fall. But the next Spring perhaps only one or two survived, then by that Fall all had disappeared.

I like them alot for that extra splash of color in borders.

Rhizo - they have viola blood in the parentage, so really should have good cold tolerance. I saw then at Pack Trials in CA this Spring - they looked great, and really do trail. Colors are really limited....

I figured that they had a lot of viola genes; that sure helps explain the cold hardiness. I'm really looking forward to trying them this fall.

I hope to see them here, but since we don't have any cutting edge nurseries left, they will have to show up at the box stores to become available locally. What I'll be hoping for is a pansy that can overwinter in a container. Not a good record for that here. It is mostly just the Sorbet yellows that manage to pull through our erractic weather.
