As you probably know, Zinnia Red Cap comes from Russia. I have not grown it, because I am not a fan of the "button" flower form in zinnias. I also have not purchased seeds from Diane's Flower Seeds, although that small seed company seems to have excellent reviews at that linked site.

You might be interested in Profusion Knee High Red, because it grows 20 to 24 inches high and a foot wide (according to the description -- I haven't grown it either, because I am also not a fan of the Profusions). But a lot of people do like the Profusions, and they are resistant to mildew. And, despite the high price of their seeds, I believe they are open pollinated.
