I didn't want to hijack the other Nasturtium thread, so I hope you don't mind my reposting.

I read through a lot of the responses on the other thread and may have received most of my answers, but want to be double clear just in case.

We bought 2 vined Nasturtium. Unsure of the name but the typical orange/yellow variety. One for each end of our 5ft block wall.

They were doing great when we first got them in the ground in Spring, but then we were hit with our first major heatwave and since then (all through the spring/summer) they've really been nothing but a fried bunch of nothing. A couple weeks of cooler temps and I saw a few green leaves again, but mostly just fried.

They weren't in there too long to get established, so I have a few major concerns (thus why I didn't want to hijack the other thread).

Do I need to prune or wait til they get more established. It's mostly brown dead stuff with a couple green leaves.

How much water do they require? They're in full sun with good drainage. Right now they have a 2gph drip emitter on them. The plants back there all get 1hr of water every 3 days. So, let me know if you think they need more/less water.

And last, since everyone says they are very easy to grow, does this mean they may come back? when is their time to thrive? Cool weather? Cause I'm in Southern CA and we will have warm weather for another couple months.

Sorry for so many questions. But, when I've tried to look them up on the internet, I get mostly information about eating them not so much on their care.
