Give daffodils a try! Tulips and hyacinths will probably not last too long but if you pick the right daffodil it should work out. Go with a tried and true older variety (basically anything that's cheap and readily available), look for the biggest bulbs and make sure it's a taller variety. Ice follies or any yellow trumpet would be good, but don't be afraid to experiment with a couple different ones here and there.
Just dig in with a shovel, pull up a couple pachysandra strands to clear a small spot and pop in the bulbs. Don't over think it :)

I used to have bunches mixed in with the pachysandra, they did fine.

My only Pachysandra bed was planted in deep shade under a conifer. I planted the Pachysandra there because nothing else would grow. If yours is where it gets the sun, I agree with kato b. Al

I have some Spanish bluebells planted in a pachysandra bed in front of the house & they are fine there. They are tough & can compete with the pachy roots.

The pachydsandra is going this spring, though. It was there when we bought the house & I have never liked it.

I'm glad to learn someone has had success with Spanish bluebells planted in Pachysandra, I'm excited to give that a try.

I'm growing Hyacinth & Allium Gladiator bulbs in my Pachysandra, in the areas the Pachysandra is in the sun. So far each year they return without any fuss. But I keep an eye on them, as the Pachysandra fills in, as it was planted around the same time as the bulbs and not fully dense. Time will tell.

I wonder why everyone who asks about Pachysandra and bulbs usually only get the answer of large Daffodils being compatible. If they can make it, it seems other large bulbs could too, right?
