There have been several posts on this forum about this subject, and finally I did it. Last summer I bought three plants and dug the tubers in the fall. Someone had mentioned saran wrap, so I cleaned off the tubers (no water) and wrapped them in Saran, placed them in my basement so I could see them whenever I went down, and they were doing fine. We were leaving on vacation in January and I decided to put them in a pot of slightly moistened seed starting mixture and off I went. In the spring they were still intact and firm and I potted them up in potting soil and brought them to a sunny window and it took some time but they sprouted. We had a horrible summer - lots of rain, earwigs, and slugs, and weeds, but they held their own, even though they were under attack. Here's a pic. of one of them in an area which was flooded this summer. Now let's see if I can repeat it this year.
