Back in the 1960's, I remember my mother growing this one annual every year though I don't remember the name. It stood 8" tall from what I remember, the flower came in several colors. The stem was fleshy like that in Impatients and had a simular leaf. The thing I remember the most was the seed pods that would burst when touched. The seeds were either dark brown or black and round. This would self sew readily. Any ideas?

Impatien/touch me not are the only seed pod that I know of that bursts like that - There are many types of impatiens out there - you could pose this question to the impatiens forum if you don't get an answer.

The seed pods on Cleome/Spider Flower also pop open when touched. They come in different colors and are fairly tall. Do a google image search and see if that is it.
