I am glad you posted that because I totally agree. I was just saying to my family that the zinnias have never looked so good - no mildew at all. My profusions, however, have been done since May and are still going strong. Carrie

That's great! I have other plants (poppies and larkspur) that last until around July that I fall sow where the zinnias are. I also have sunburst cosmos that pop up and bloom everywhere, spring and mid-summer, adding to the mix,,,,,,,,,

My zinnias are starting to fade, I'm just outside of D.C.,,,,,,,soon I will put in the poppies and larkspur,,,,,,,do MAJOR clean up,,,,,,,,REST!!!

Your routine sounds similar to mine. I love zinnias - especially the tall ones - in the fall. They are so colorful. Tonight, however, I did pick about ten tall ones to enjoy in a bouquet along with Montauk Daisies and rebloomed Black Eyed Susans. I like this time of year - Have fun - Carrie

I can't get marigolds to grow in the late summer-early fall, but I tried zinnias this year and they have been spectacular.
