I have a predicament...I love Candy Cane zinnias..I grew up in the nineties (19 here) and my dad and I would always plant regular large pom-pom zinnias and then the candy canes. I distinctly remember them being less than double or pom-pom, almost single...I find that the ones I planted this year or have planted in recent years don't remind me much of the old ones....is it a new strain? I don't think they were ever that full and had only two colors availible. Can anybody clarify?

Also, what are some good vintage/heirloom zinnia strains out there? I like old varieties of things generally, it makes me feel like I'm keeping other people's legacies and love alive (cheesy reasoning).
