I'd guess houzz categorized the photos by the region the designer is listed in, despite where their main office is, or project featured is actually located. West Vancouver is not Vancouver, but there also isn't an option to list your projects in "the Lower Mainland", or "West Vancouver".

There's no option for Peachland (230 miles away from Vancouver and not in either the Lower Mainland or West Vancouver) or Gibsons, either. So create an "option" or category for them or don't include them. The designers' offices are not all in Vancouver, either. You may think I'm being petty, but a dining room looking out onto a vineyard, for example, is not even vaguely close to what you would see in Vancouver and is extremely misleading.

Hi Guys, Right now there are limited official metros listed on Houzz. As we grow and more areas have more content, we are adding new official metros. What this means, is that design professionals generally choose the metro area that is closest to them when they set up their profile. It looks like West Vancouver is about 12 km from Vancouver, so that would likely be the chosen metro area for a professional based there right now.

When creating polls specific to a region, we usually are featuring designers based in a particular region, so while the specific job may be a ways away, someone looking for a designer in X city is seeing part of their portfolio (even if the job was a distance away). The focus has been on the work of the professional, not necessarily the precise location of the project. Apologies for the frustration! Hopefully, you can enjoy the photos for their inspiration and beauty.
