For the first time, I'm going to add granulated lime to the potting mix for some seed-grown Lavenders (L. angustifolia 'Munstead' and 'Rosea')I'm potting up. They're going from 4" pots to trade gallons.

My reading tells me they like alkaline soil, but I've never added lime to container mix. I use it in the planting hole for Peppers, but that's the extent of my experience.

What are the guidelines? A tablespoon per trade gallon (3-quart) pot? A teaspoon? A pinch?

The media is Al's mix, with no lime or ferts.
