Container Gardening- wrong soil, wrong timing?

Am I first time gardener... I built some large containers from scrap wood, about 1.5ft X 8ft. I purchased soil that was specifically for vegetables, but noticed too late that it was for "IN GROUND," Gardening. I already bought 10 bags of it. So its not going to drain well enough? I added some Shagnum Peat Moss to it, but not enough to do anything... I also added some Chicken Manure. I soaked it with the hose and the water barely penetrated the first layer of soil. I already have lettuce, arugula, beets, chard, carrots and kale in these containers. Is it going to be ok? The more I read, the more information there is, the more overwhelmed I get about Ph and soil texture and all that... Any advice for what I can do better in the future for my other crops or how I can remedy the crops already the ground?

Thanks!
