Squash have both male and female blooms. Without pollen being transfered from male blooms to the female ones, they will not set fruit. If you are not getting any bees to do the work, you can do the job using a small paint brush. Your other plants have flowers with both sex glands in a single flower, so they will sometimes get pollen transfered simply by the plant getting jostled by the wind, rain, etc.

The way you tell the difference between the blooms on squash and gourds is sort of the opposite of the way you tell with animals. The female bloom is the one with a protuberance. Look at the base of the bloom, and if you see a tiny squash shaped thing, it is a female flower. Take a tiny paint brush and get pollen from a male flower, dust it about inside the female flower. After a few days the blossom will drop off the tiny little squash, and it will start growing.

Thanks so much for the reply...I might of waited too long, unless they bloom again...The blooms are gone...My first year for gardening, so I am learning.

They should bloom quite a bit more.
I've heard that the morning hours are prime....
