What a great idea. I just filled in with some hens and chickend in a little container garden with pruchased succulents. Doing the whole shebang with plants from the garden is even better! I am just back from a garden club meeting and I brought some spare plants to give away. One of my neighbors took two of my red euphorbia seedlings and she said she was going to put them in her pots - great idea. Also I have creeping jenny all over the place. The plant stores sell the light green version, but the dark one is just as pretty so I was going to pur that in my sunny pots this year.

I also start indoor plants to use to drape out of my baskets and pots like Philodendrun and spider plants. Looks very pretty. Then I take Vinca vine from my garden and that also drapes nicely.

Arcy and trowelgal you inspired me! Here are 2 that I planted yesterday with red euphorbia, lamium, anenome, creeping jenny, vinca, per tall blue lobelia and one accidental piece of cranesbill geranium. They don't look like much now, but I have high hopes for later in the season. The other two pots of which I show one have a big store bought coleus and some begonias in colors to match. Begonias haven't grown yet, but my brother works for a bulb co. in CA and sent them to me. I'm using my old camera and noticed that it thinks its 2002, lol. Also painting porch trim this year according to my dh!

I carry two kinds of tradescantia over the winter indoors (they're usually house plants anyway). Tip cuttings root in dirt and I can fill a couple of hanging pots for the porch with them.
