The drought is so bad I'm saving graywater for the yard. I always had a 'kitchen bucket' for wash and rinse water, pasta water, vegetable washing water, etc. Now I've started plugging up the tub drain for showers, and scooping out the 5-10 gal of water with a flat-sided bucket.

My distribution system used to be 'walk out on the deck and fling it over the side.' Now, my deck is on the 2d story, so I have gravity working for me. I cut a hole near the bottom of an old 5-gal bucket, attached a hose fitting, set the bucket in a corner of the deck, and attached 50 ft of hose. Now I can pour a whole bucket of wastewater into the bucket and water at a distance, wherever I've placed the other end of the hose.

If the drought keeps up, I might think about installing a real graywater system in my house.
