We removed an in-ground swimming pool last summer and used the concrete chunks to make a great looking raised bed. We flipped the concrete over to expose the rough rocks, then planted sedum in-between the concrete. My neighbors thought that it was flag stone. It looks great.

We had an overgrown oak tree taken down and the guy had one of those huge grinders that chops the wood and shoots it into the back of the truck. SO I asked him if he would let me have the wood chips and he was thrilled. He has to pay a $35 dumping fee for wood so he deducted that much off my bill and I got a years worth of free mulch.
