Hi cherokeeleprechaun,

Welcome to Garden Web and The Seed Exchange!

Please see addressing newbie and newer member issues for instructions on getting your Member Page email link set up so that you can easily be reached for trading.

I'd never heard of 'ball' luffa, but see that it is Luffa operculata and not available at many places. The site linked below does however sell it.

Happy Gardening and Trading!

thanks, I tried that page but Iit doesn't allow you to even print out their request form, you get an error page. I will find them yet somehow, someway!!! I am determined. LOL

I did go back and click on that square to allow for an email link. Sorry about that I thought I had put my email addy in the original message but I see that I didn't.

Thanks again.

hmmm...I see from another one of their pages that they closed some time ago. Sorry.

You might try some of the many links and folks listed with The American Gourd Society. Possibly some one can help you find seeds.

I am a member of the Texas Gourd Sosciety go I am going to try there first but I am going to try and get my three hundred plants in first. I am behind as I follow Murphy's law. Last year I put out 200 plants and they disappeared, ate to the ground. SO I started another set. Same thing !!! Grass hopper invasion !!! Took care of those bad babies. Fed them nolo all summer. Have special organics planned this year and my tree and road lizzard population doubled so hoppers beware!!!

Yea got that, put out 300 seeds, all set up in their nice little cosy seed beds, went in to check on them two days later. This is a normal thing but guess what??? The mice has a smorgaboard of gourd delights.

Fine, I can handle this but I tell ya I am behind, behind, behind. LOL I brought all my stuff home to the house, away from the river property where they will be planted after they have germinated. They are now baby sitted by my kitties and me. Safe as can be, no hoppers and no mice !!!

Its a gonna be a good year for gourds ! It is! It is! lol
