a store here in the uk called waitrose has had pineberries the last 2-3 years, i bought a tub, and wasent to impressed tbh the berries small, insipid, had to wait till they went really soft to get any sort of nice flavour from them, pineberry is the growers/breeders name for them, ive been told there a selected seedling thats been grown out, most similar varieties to them available is ananas, and anablanca, both whiteish strawberries also, ive grown both and both were better tasting and larger then the shop bought ones, i think you have a few in pineberry type strawberries in america, white d, white pine, the ripe seeds do tend to be red, and they do have a pineapplish flavour, some berries that face the sun can take on a slight rosy, or yellowish tinge regards stew
