The wood is cedar. It's a special "select" grade of cedar with no knots. As far as the color of the stain, it's a custom mix. Your painter should be able to custom mix stains to achieve the color you desire. Hope this helps.

I love this whole project! Who makes the doors and what wood is used for the doors?

What is the climate where the cedar planks are installed? I want to achieve a similar look in SW Florida. What maintenance is foreseen for the planks? Warping? Expanding/contracting? Fading? Thank you! I love it!

This project is about a block and a half from the ocean in Southern California. Summers are dry and warm. Winters are temperate and vary between dry and wet. Low humidity either way. Very different climate than SW Florida.

very beautiful project. Can you tell me the source of the glass railing you used? It's so perfectly clean, if it's a system vs. custom and if system, who is the MFG? Thanks so much, K

Thank you. The glass rail system uses an extruded aluminum "shoe" which is cast in the concrete. The shoe is made by Peninsula Glass. The rail itself is 1/2" laminated clear glass. It's very sturdy and has a beautiful finish. Being a block and a half from the beach the owner is routinely cleaning the glass as salt spray occasional affects it. But other than that. It's maintenance free. No painting. No rusting.
