Apple tree question

Four years ago when my daughter was 8 years old, she took some seeds from her apple in her lunchbox. She soaked them in water (without my knowledge) and they sprouted. We planted them in soil, left them outside during the blizzard 3 years ago. Two springs ago we planted it in the ground and now it's almost 8 feet tall.

I know I've been told that it will probably not bear fruit. We have no idea what kind it is and if it was a hybrid kind, then they are sterile anyway.

My question is, will it still flower? Our neighbors have a crabapple tree and I'm wondering if that would be close enough to pollinate it???

So far, it's never bloomed for us.
